For over forty years The Banner School has welcomed students from around Frederick County (and indeed the world) to our warm, diverse, and inclusive place of learning. Our small class sizes, dynamic curriculum, and dedicated faculty provide just the right mix of nutrients to help our students grow into passionate, curious, and confident learners.
We welcome and encourage a diversity of thought and approaches through each child’s unique perspective and experience. Further, we value our relationship with parents and the extended community. The Banner Triangle is our symbol of that belief—that the student, parent, and school working in unison are the strength of our community.
Dr. Ann Wagner, Head of School
Meet Our Head of School
Dr. Ann Wagner has more than 20 years of experience in the United States, China, Ethiopia, and Cambodia in K-12 educational administration. Dr. Ann Wagner has experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP and DP programs, IGCSE and AP curricula, and US Common Core and has taught a wide variety of classes over the years including IBDP English B and AP Studio Art.
She is also an adjunct instructor with the University of the People, teaching graduate-level courses for the Master of Education in Advanced Teaching program and works with educators around the globe.
Dr. Ann Wagner loves to travel and has felt privileged to live in different parts of the world, noting that each place offers new adventures and a deeper understanding of humanity. A lifelong learner, she recently completed a Creative Writing Certificate at UCLA and is currently working on her first novel.
