The Admissions Process
Part One
- Complete our Inquiry Form.
- After completing the Inquiry Form, Taylor Serio, Director of Admissions, will contact you with more information and to schedule a tour.
- Following the tour, Taylor will follow up to discuss next steps, which may include scheduling a shadow day, student assessment, and opportunities for your student(s) to meet teachers and students.
- Information on Shadows and Assessments: Additional student visits and/or educational/psychological testing may be requried following the applicant's initial visit. All students who are applying for Kindergarten will be assessed for program readiness.
Part Two
- Complete an Application and request for transfer of records. A copy of the child's birth certificate, current immunization records, and other school- or state-mandated documents will be required prior to enrollment.
- Teacher recommendation forms will be sent by the Admissions Office to the student's current school.
Part Three
The Banner School admits students who are motivated to learn and who will benefit from and contribute to the school’s goals. Priority admissions decisions will be offered for the 2026-2027 school year starting in early March. Thereafter, students will be admitted on a rolling basis depending on space availability. Your child may also be waitlisted until a spot can be confirmed. Banner accepts student applications at any time of year, provided there are openings.
Acceptance is based on:
- Review by the Admissions Committee of past academic performance (as indicated by standardized test scores, transcripts, and report cards).
- Information from parents and current or previous teachers.
- Observed behavior during the child's classroom visit.
- Confidence, on the part of The Banner School, that the student can have success within our curriculum.
