Challenged and Supported
Our primary program (grades 1-4) offers a well-rounded, challenging, and engaging curriculum that spans language arts, math, science, social studies, Spanish, art, library, music, and physical education. Small class sizes allow us to provide individualized support to meet the diverse learning needs of each student, ensuring that all learners are challenged and supported.
Our students engage in learning experiences that develop foundational academic skills, have real world applications, provide opportunities for creative project work, and foster critical thinking and collaboration. Our emphasis on global awareness prepares students to be lifelong learners informed by knowledge of cultures and perspectives that differ from their own.
Students in our primary program attend frequent field trips that connect classroom learning to the real world. They develop leadership skills, model kindness and empathy, and share their learning with peers across grade levels in whole school presentations.
Students participate in hands-on projects that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and creativity. Instruction is rooted in Maryland State Standards, but we go beyond the basics, offering a deeper exploration of each subject to foster a more comprehensive understanding of the world.
Our students build strong, supportive relationships with their teachers, peers, and the broader school community, creating a sense of belonging and collaboration. Our environment provides students with the opportunity to feel empowered and motivated to learn by fostering a sense of ownership over their education and encouraging curiosity through engaging and meaningful experiences.
Our program is designed to provide academics that are both developmentally appropriate and sufficiently challenging, ensuring that each child’s potential is fully realized while fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
