Summer Discovery Camp

The Banner School Discovery Camp, located in the heart of downtown Frederick, offers children a fun and educational theme-based camp experience. All of our camps are run by experienced staff with a small camper to counselor ratio to ensure that each camper has fun in a safe environment.  Camp offerings vary each week and include adventure hikes, creative arts, STEAM exploration, and more.  We are delighted to offer many new programs as well as annual favorites.

Our camps are open to the public and designed for students who have completed Kindergarten through eighth grade.  A camp schedule is distributed to parents at the beginning of each week so they are aware of all on-site activities and field trips their child will be participating in during their camp experience. We offer a variety of morning, afternoon, or full-day camps.

All camps are priced individually.

Some of our specialty camps are priced separately and may require registration through a third party site as indicated. Please review each camp selection before enrolling your child.

Early Childhood Summer Session

Our Early Childhood Summer Session is a perfect mix of educational and fun. Camp themes incorporate circle time, weather, music, math, reading, writing, and arts and crafts. We enjoy local field trips, cooking, guest speakers, and many outdoor activities. This program is for campers 3.5-5 who have not completed kindergarten.

All campers must be 3.5 to attend our camp.

All campers must be potty-trained before they can attend.

Our staff are CPR/First Aid certified/AED/Epi-Pen trained.

Families can choose from a half-day A.M. session or a full-day session. All participants can also register for before or after care if needed for an additional fee. Early Childhood camps operate in two-week blocks.

All participants must have a completed camper history on file prior to attending camp.

Extended Care 

Registration for Discovery Camp Extended Care is coming soon.

Extended Care is available from 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm Monday through Friday, and can be added to your summer camp registration. Extended Care is available for Ages 5-12 in the mornings and ages 3.5-12 in the afternoons.

Cancellation Policy

The Banner School Summer Discovery Camp and Early Childhood Summer Session will always offer an exchange to a similarly priced camp on a different week or session at no cost, or work with you to upgrade to a different priced camp if your child cannot attend the camp for which you registered. To ensure adequate summer staffing, full refunds minus a registration fee will only be available until June 13, 2025..

After June 13, a fifty-percent refund can be requested in writing prior to the start of the specific camp.

Payment Policy

Payment plans are available. Each camp must be paid in full prior to its start date for campers to attend. A $15 late fee will be assessed for each late camp.
