Please Stand With The Banner School

Since its founding in 1982 as the first nonsectarian private institution in Frederick County, The Banner School has dedicated more than forty years to educating students in an environment that blends academic rigor with meaningful personal growth. Community built The Banner School, and it remains the force that carries our legacy forward.

As many now know, The Banner School does not intend to open for the 2026–2027 school year this fall. To change this course, we must raise close to $600,000—funds essential not only for repairing the HVAC system, maintaining our building, and addressing low projected enrollment, but also for supporting our teachers and ensuring we can continue to meet payroll and staffing commitments. Our educators are the heart of Banner, and sustaining them through this period is one of our most urgent priorities.

Our main focus now is supporting our students, families, and staff through this transition, and we are committed to ensuring that every member of our school community receives the guidance and resources they need in the months ahead.

Banner has always been a place where children discovered their confidence, their curiosity, and their sense of belonging. If this school has touched your life or the life of someone you love, we ask you to please give your support. Your generosity can help us end this year on a high note, and directly sustain the teachers who have given so much to our students.
